With the rapid growth of the social economy and extensive application of information technology, vast amount of information stored in a relational database in the form of structured data. It has become a research difficulty that how to model this structured data which contains all kinds of information to meet the information analysis, sharing and reuse of demand, and give advice to optimize information systems in the field of information. Ontology is a modeling tool, which describes the concept of the semantic and knowledge level, it also can solve the knowledge engineering, sharing and reusing effectively, providing a solution ideas to analyze structured data sources. This paper studies how to use a relation database to model ontology automatically from structured data source in information system. Meanwhile, it also studies how to optimize the organization of the business automatically and use the optimization information to expand the ontology. Therefore, this paper first analyzes the information system database, mapping rules from relational database to ontology and constructing ontology automatically from relational database. At the same time, this paper analyzes the function and data of the information system and determines the relationship between function and data, choosing the U/C matrix which is widely used to establish functional data model to realize the automatic optimization of organization. Finally, we expand the ontology by using the optimization information, making the ontology has the valuable on optimization. The main work is as follows:1) Status summary. We introduced the current research in ontology modeling and analyzed the problems in the current study.2) Build ontology from the structured data source automatically. We analyzed some existing methods that mapped a relational database to ontology, pointing out the problems contained therein. Then, we used reverse engineering to extract the conceptual model of the database and designed some rules to map a relational database to OWL ontology, which can be used to extracted information from database and map a relational database to OWL ontology automatically. Experiments show that the method is feasible and effective.3) Automatic optimization of the organization and ontology expansion. Analyzed existing relational database, combined process, then established an information system U/C matrix, analyzed and optimized the matrix, divided subsystem, reducing coupling, reducing the flow of information. Then according to the division of the subsystem information, we can use ontology editing tools to expand ontology, making its more perfect. The optimized ontology provided a more image ontology model in business optimization.
