Wireless sensor network is a novel technology for acquiring and processing information, it has great research and application value. Data collection is one of the most basic function of wireless sensor network, which means that use the sensor nodes obtain information, Sink node summary information and send to the end user. However, the sensor nodes energy is very limited, this restricts the network survival time severely. In addition, a large number of sensor nodes also brings data collection delay problems. Therefore, in order to ensure that nodes can long-term and efficient work, and can transmit data in time, it must to effectively reduce energy consumption and latency. The purpose of this paper is to design the data collection protocol that both can meet the requirements of delay and maximize the network life cycle. This paper deeply analyzes the data collected in the difficult problem about energy consumption and latency, and combining the two kinds of different network scenarios, studied the non-convergence of data collection protocols. This paper adopted by the network scenarios include:1) Sink fixed static wireless sensor network; 2) Sink mobile dynamic wireless sensor networks.(1) For the static wireless sensor network with Sink fixed, this paper proposes a maximize lifetime to real-time data gathering protocol DCLB. DCLB first adopt the tree structure that strong energy management is used to establish the relationship between the nodes, and construct a shortest path tree. Then optimize the tree, reduces the large load node number of child nodes. DCLB joint take into account the data collection delay and energy consumption of nodes in the process of optimization. The experimental results show that DCLB can effectively reduce the delay at the same time extend the network survival time.(2) For the dynamic wireless sensor network with Sink mobile, this paper mainly studies based on the collective nodes of data collection model, and proposes an efficient data collection protocol DRPS. DRPS first construct a shortest path tree, then use the DCLB algorithm to optimize the tree, and get a load balancing tree. Then, select the large weight node from the tree which meet the limited path length as collective node. Finally Sink starting from the current position, traverse all collective nodes return to original position, complete data collection at a time. The experimental results show that DRPS can reduce the network energy consumption under the guarantee of delays.
