With the rapid development of the space exploration in our country, such as the manned space engineering, the moon probe project and the building of the space station, the demand for the space telecommunication network gets more attention. The present point-to-point telecommunication cannot meet the future demand, while the flight-ground integrated telecommunication network with high coverage, reliability, bandwidth, efficiency and scalability can change the current situation of the space telecommunication technology in our country. Based on this problem, the consultative committee for space date system(CCSDS) proposed the IP over CCSDS protocol and the advanced orbiting systems(AOS) space data link protocol, which makes possible the implementation of the flight-ground integrated telecommunication network.Based on the research project “the design and implementation of the gateway for IP over CCSDS”, the design of the gateway for the IP over CCSDS is shown, which is focused on the design and implementation of the high-speed interface circuit. First, the current situation of the space telecommunication network is introduced, as well as the development and the application of the CCSDS; second, the IP over CCSDS protocol is studied, and the procedure for data processing is analyzed; with the requirement of the project, an approach based on the FPGA is proposed for the design and implementation of the IP over CCSDS gateway, with the research mainly focused on high-speed interface circuit. The Verilog HDL is employed to implement the high-speed interface circuit. Finally, the test bench is built to verify the function and performance of the gateway. The result shows that the objective is achieved.
