With the development of modern technology, the types of flying targets get more and more complex. The demands of detecting the flying targets are increasingly high. Measuring the height and speed of the flying target is not only beneficial to China’s military technology accumulation, which has significant meaning for China’s military strategic security; at the same time also has a great role in promoting the development of civil technology. This research on height and velocity measurement of flying targets based on microwave technology has important practical application value.Microwave radar has been widely used in traffic control, geological surveying, weather and other civilian areas and alert, guidance, battlefield reconnaissance and other military fields.Which is applied to the accurate measurement of flying target detection radar, because of its heavy responsibility in shouldering the weapon system, and particularly attention. In recent years, with the rapid development of modern signal processing technology in weapons and equipment, as well as modern signal processing devices, weapons and equipment will be constantly updated, updated weaponry on the radar also raised new and higher requirements.Flying targets not only have speed measuring radar function, but also at the same time to have the distance and angle measurement functions.This topic uses microwave radar to realize the goal of the height and velocity measurement of flying objects. Firstly introduces the background of the research, discusses the importance and necessity of the flying target measurement radar. Then introduce the working principle of flying target measuring radar based on microwave technology. The main function, block diagram and main technical parameters are given combining with the practice of engineering system. The theoretical analysis and calculation has been carried on the main technical parameters. Then elaborate the realization of the hardware platform architecture of data acquisition, the proceessing flow and the software design. Next carried out a detailed analysis on the target detection algorithm, describes the signal processing algorithm of rang, velocity and angle measuring of the flying targes. Finally studies the target tracking algorithm, and the algorithm is simulated, finally get the actual target height and speed.
