With the rapid application of pulse-compression radar, all kinds of targets in space are facing a serious threat. If we interfere pulse-compression radar ineffectively, we not only cannot complete the missions planned, but also cannot ensure the safety of our own. Therefore, the development of radar technology becomes a necessary trend. Radar jamming technique and jamming effectiveness evaluation will be the key points of this paper. There is no doubt that the most effective way to obtain the evaluation of radar jamming effect is to interfere with the real pulse-compression radar. But it also has lots of disadvantages. For example, the process requires a lot of manpower, material, financial resources and time. So the most appropriate way to obtain the evaluation of radar jamming effect is to realize through the software emulation. This paper is based on system modeling and MATLAB simulation of radar countermeasure. Analyzing the influence of blanket jamming and deceive jamming under different conditions to pulse compression radar. And next will be the evaluating of jamming effect.Firstly, this paper simply introduces the research background and international development of radar countermeasure technology in recent years. And it also points out the importance of the radar countermeasure technology and the evaluation of jamming effect in modern warfare. Secondly, this chapter has a simple understanding about basic knowledge of pulse-compression radar. It includes the technology about pulse compression and pulse compression of linear FM, and detailed knowledge of radar transmitter, radar receiver and signal processing. Thirdly, this chapter describes radar countermeasure technology and some jamming signals. The blanket jamming includes RF noise jamming, noise AM jamming, noise FM jamming, noise PM jamming and pulse jamming. The deceive jamming includes distance deception jamming and velocity deception jamming. And it also introduces the criterion about evaluation of radar jamming effect. Such as, the jamming to signal ratio in blanket jamming and the number of false target in deceive jamming. Fourthly, this chapter focuses on modeling and simulation of radar countermeasure system. And the modeling and simulation of target, echo, pulse compression radar system and jamming system are included in the chapter, which contributes to understand the process of modeling and simulation better and make good preparation for radar jamming and the evaluation of jamming effect. Finally, thischapter mainly acquires figures of simulation based on the knowledge of pulse-compression radar, radar jamming and the simulation of radar countermeasure system. It analyzes the jamming effect of pulse compression radar under different evaluation criterions. For example, it focuses on analyzing the jamming effect of pulse compression radar under a different jamming to signal ratio about blanket jamming. And the jamming effect of radar is analyzed under a different number of false targets by deceive jamming. It also has effect on the probability, accuracy and resolution of target detection.
