With the rapid growth of ground-air communication, integration of space and terrestrial networks has become a mainstream trend, and CCSDS is set up in such background. Many protocols to carry IP Packets through Space Data Link in different application scenarios have been issued to standardize ground-air communication protocols including IP ove CCSDS AOS Adaption Protocol. The protocol focuses on high-rate application scenario where the service rate speeds up to several Gbps or even dozens of Gbps. The protocol is generally based on hardware imlementation.Combining with labrotary project, a kinde of IP over CCSDS AOS Adapter implemented basing on FPGA is introduced. Firstly, IP over CCSDS AOS adaptation protocol is described, and the general design of the adapter is briefly stated according to the adaptation protocols and design requirements. Then, the working process and concrete implementation of the core module-Data Link Layer Adaptation Unit is detailed and the simulation analysis is made. The critical function of the Data Link Layer Adaptation Unit is accomplishing interconversion between variable and fixed data units. Finally, functional and performance testing of the adapter is made. Test results show that the adapter works correctly and has realized the basic functional requirements, some key performance indicators of which and even exceed the design needs.
