Flatness measurement refers to measurement a plane’s value of flatnesserror. Flatness measurement is widely used in installation of mechanical engineering, geodesy, and construction process of construction industry. Especially in the construction process of the internal decoration, along with the higher and higher construction demands, there is a growing need for a real time commmon reference for the construction. The traditional method of flatness measurement, some’s structure is too complex, some’s measuring range is limited, some’s measurement efficiency is too low, can not meet our needs. Therefore, this paper aims to develop an embedded fast flatness measurement system which has simple structure, moderate accuracy, and can achieve rapid measurement.This paper investigates the principle and conventional methods of flatness measurement, and analysis the needs of the industrial field and the shortcomings of the conventional flatness measurement method. And then design an embedded fast flatness measurement system, which has simple structure and is low cost. The system’s accuracy is lmm, and its measuring range is 0-48.79mm in the range of lm.The main content of this paper can be divided into three parts:First, develop a fast flatness measurement system based on embedded system. The system consists of three parts includes the generator of lattice structure light, the image acquisition unit and the controlling and processing unit. In this measurement system, the generator of lattice structure light refers to the laser and the orthogonal grating, the image acquisition unit refers to the USB camera, the controlling and processing unit refers to the ARM development board.Second, introduce the principle of flatness measurement method which is based on lattice structure light, set up the mathematical model of the measurement method. On the basis of the mathematical model design the software processing algorithm. And then realization the software processing algorithm and develop the embedded software.Third, this paper designs and conducts experiment. The experiment is divided into three parts:The first part is the computer simulation experiment, which is mainly used to verity the performance of algorithm of the localization of spot centers. The second part is the test of the measurement method which is based on PC platform. The experiment is used to verify the accuracy of direct laser triangulation, and the effect on measurement results of the calibration frequency and the characteristics of the surface. The third part is the test of embedded fast flatness measurement system, which is mainly to verify the accuracy of the measurement system.
