The transmission line which is the intermediate link of electrical energy delivery plays an important role in construction and operation of power industry. However, As it often exposure in harsh natural environment and also it is widespread, the trasmission line is destined to suffer fault. Based on this situation, in order to ensure the reliability of power supply and reduce the outage cost, the State Grid Corporation of China(SGCC) has been put varieties of monitoring systems for real-time information collection. The functional requirements and data format may not the same as these monitoring systems are developed by different manufacturers in different periods.However, these information from different system has certain relationship, therefore, there is a need for integration of historical data and real-time data from the grid. Multi-source data of fault diagnosis methods and data mining technology has been mature which provides theoretical support and demand to establish a data warehouse. This thesis in such demand, has done the follwing research.Firstly, this thesis discussed the necessity of using software platform for manage multi-source fault data in transmission line. From the perspective of software design, this thesis designed the physical model and time granularity also the fact table and every dimension table.in order to ensure the data of the data warehouse updated in real time, and solve the disorderly phenomenon which multi-source’s data bring in, this thesis uses the incremental extraction rules based on the trigger to update the data,at the same time, it also pays attention to data preprocessing, which removes the redundant data and duplicate data and error data to ensure that the data in the warehouse is clean.Secondly, consider the possibility of the line alarm may be inaccurate and the channel may break, this thesis has concluded the judgment rule of real fault data after extraction the multi-source data. Through testing the actual data of power grid, it verified the feasibility and accuracy of the data warehouse.Finally, using the data warehouse which has been set up, combining with the characteristics of transmission line fault cases current rate of change, this thesis completed the quick access to information for fault diagnosis research; On this basis, this thesis inserted the subjective fault cause data to spatial statistical analysis for 500kV lines’fault in a province grid using the query function module.Practice has proved, the data warehouse made by this thesis has a certain accuracy and reliability, it will provide the data preparation for fault diagnosis and data mining work, and it has a certain practical significance and research value.
