The rational analysis of propagation characteristics of radio wave and the accurate propagation model are of great significance not only for wireless network planning, but also for the reliability of the interference between base stations and mobile stations, and frequency distribution. At last, it ensures that the limited spectrum resources are efficiently and rationally used, which can help ease the tension of spectrum resources shortage in the current and avoid the unnecessary waste of resources allocation. The main research works are as follows:(1)Implement the CW test by self-measurement system. Using the signal generator to generate 11 communications band now commonly used such as GSM/TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and TD-LTE, which the frequency span of 700MHz to3500MHz. Then, we selected three representative radio propagation environments respectively to conduct site surveys in Shanghai to compare the propagation path loss of different communication frequencies in different fading environments. And implemented the propagation model calibration based on the measured data of the measurement area, then compare the calibration model with the classical macro cell propagation model.(2)The test data is firstly pretreated by filtering the invalid data, and geography average. Then, analyze the correlation between path loss, coverage and other propagation characteristics with its own frequency, transmitting antenna height and propagation environment. The test results show that the propagation characteristics of radio wave are closely linked with frequency, transmitting antenna height and propagation environment, and establish the mathematical model; Analyze the difference of propagation characteristics of various wireless network frequency bands by calculating the mean, standard deviation and root mean square error of their propagation path loss difference.(3)In order to verify the accuracy of the first phase of testing and analysis results., in the second phase of this project, we used the specialized test equipment to collect the path loss data from three different mobile communication networks including GSM, TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE covered by the co-located base stations in the corresponding measurement region. The comparisons results show that the conclusions of two-stage test and analyze are basically the same, which verified the accuracy of the conclusions from CW test.
