Research On "Baotou Daily" From 1931 To 1937

From 1931 to 1937, facing the fact that the situation in China was increasingly severe and complex because of Japanese invasion, Chiang Kai-shek proposed the policy of "Resisting Foreign Aggression after Stabilizing the Country." It was under such historical background which has two main themes-"internal security" and"stabbing outside" that " Baotou Daily" was born, making it carry a sophisticated brand of the times. The development and report contents of " Baotou Daily" can have an impact on the huge party newspaper system of KMT, although it was only a small part, do can conjure up the whole situation.Through a review of historical data and the remaining material of’Baotou Daily" between 1931 and 1937, coupled with researches on the historical background, development and the contents of the newspaper, this essay gets to the conclusion that with the purpose of " propagating forKMT, voicing for the local media to enrich social culture and communicate with the Northwest, "Baotou Daily" focused on propagating against Japanese aggression, developing the environment of the Northwest, governing the social atmosphere, assisting thegovernment in managing resources and commenting on the social events.As its commercial nature and its focus on improving management, the newspaper show rising trend in running just within 7 years. However, due to some reasons like the social situation, some restricted objective conditions, its limited capacity and great historical limitations, this newspaper can not have the ability to complete its social responsibility as a real press.As a case of local party press in the system of KMT party newspaper, "Baotou Daily", to a certain extent, can reflect the situation of KMT local party press development, and I believe that this research can have an effect like u a falling leaf can predict the coming of the autumn ", so to provide a case for the study of KMT journalism during the period of his stay in Mainland China.
