With the rapid development of microwave communications system and the improvement of computer operational speed and basic industrial technologies, the advantage of phased-array technology becomes more striking. For example, phased-array radars are applied in the military area and electrically tuned antennas of new-generation radio communication in the civil area. In the application of these phased-array technologies, feed lines have various functions such as the electrical scanning, the multibeam and the control of sidelobe level etc. Microwave subassemblies have great significance in improving signal transmission quality of the radio frequency and the whole set system and in simplifying the structure of the whole set. At the same time, the amplitude-phase consistency and the phase stability are required for signal transmission quality of feed lines. RF phase-stabilized cable technology emerges according to this condition. For RF cable subassemblies, the simple type selection and the assembling of connectors and cables is not a key problem, while challenges from low standing-wave ratio, low consumption and phase stability etc. become more serious.But there are still many problems to be solved in the development of RF phase-stabilized cable subassemblies:the design, the type selection and the matching of phase-stabilized connectors and cables. For the solution of these problems, a systemic development plan is proposed according to the theory of microwave transmission line in this paper. The following three parts will be studied:1. Configuration of RF phase-stabilized cable subassembliesThis part describes the function of the subassemblies in the system. Based on the theory of microwave transmission line and according to parameter requirements of the subassemblies required by the system, RF phase-stabilized connectors and cables are carefully selected.2. Assembling process of phase-stabilized cable subassembliesIn light of the configuration of phase-stabilized connectors and features of phase-stabilized cables, proper technique and accurate process parameters are selected in the assemblage of the subassemblies.3. Phase control during the assemblage of RF phase-stabilized cable subassembliesBased on above results of the research, the solution is given to various problems during the assemblage of RF phase-stabilized cable subassemblies and the future development trend is expected.
