The generation of the digital reading has effectively solve the problem of the storage and looking up of the information The problem resulting from the exploration of the information mainly includes two aspects:First, the digital storage of information; Second, the digitizing of the reading. way As one of the digitizing reading ways, the electronic book using electronic paper as monitors has pay more attention to the improvement of the user’s experience. The E-paper based on E-ink technology is one of the most popular monitors in the field of electronic paper book. In addition to the flexibility lightweight and collapsibility of the traditional paper, the E-paper without radiation and backlighting has low power consumption and does not hurt the eyes. This paper will make some optimization to the E-paper system from the light-thin, low power consumption and cost. The E-paper after optimization, based on the embedded technology, has realized human-computer interaction with the combination of the E-paper and touching panel. In addition, the E-paper, using WiFi and 3G as the way to access the Internet, also provide abandunt applications based on Qt/E. In addition to satisfy need of the keeping, storage and looking-up of the information, the E-paper complies with the requirement of environment-friendly and green reading and has broaden market prospect and research meaning.After analysising the background and research status of the E-book at home and abroad, this article has introduced the relevent technology of E-paper, including electronic paper, embedded system, development of GUI application and network. This paper has anslysised the requirement of the system and proposed an optimization design for the E-paper system. The plan includes two aspects, first, in terms of hardware. It’s based on the platform which make up by a high-performance, low-power processor S3C2440 and a E-paper that provides no harmful of eyes, no backlight and a good felling while reading. Use low-cost, highly integrated module LBWA18HEPZ-135 through the way of SDIO to access the wireless network. Use high sensitive, ten-cent four-wire resistive touch panel for the system’s input controls. Use small and easy implementation mini USB to build the USB interface. Finally, anew layout the whole circuit. For software, this paper, based on the Linux system, has designed the driver of Wi-Fi and touching panel, transplanted the open source Tslib and realized the setting management and operating the device at last. Based on the Qt/E, this paper has designed and optimized the GUI program, and the E-book can provide documents reader, web browsing, music player, Wi-Fi and 3G network management, input method in both English and Chinese and so on. After optimization, in addition to a huge decrease in the power-comsuption ight-thin and cost the E-book also has more plentiful applications and more friendly human-computer interaction.After installation, this paper has tested the stability and reliability of the optimized E-book system. The results showed that the system was stable and had a good displaying and operating experience, which achieved the expected requirements and had optimized in the light-thin and functional plenty.
