The second session of Youth Olympic Games were held in Nanjing, China in 2014.This grand international meeting has attracted millions of people’s attention and participation.Media reports contributes greatly to the great influence of Youth Olympic Games.Through these stories,the news media creates a meaningful YOG for the audiences.Among these news agents,Modern Express-a local newspaper-has won people’s favor relying on its wonderful articles.This study mainly focus on how Modern Express narrate the story happened during the YOQincluding the content and the strategy of narrating.Then this article tries to answer the core question of the study,for Modern Express, how they narrated the news about YOG.The study found that,1.Modern Express narrate a simple but nuclear story-the second session of YOG was held in Nanjing,China.Besides this,Modern Express told a series of affiliated stories to enrich the nuclear story’s connotation.2.The true writers of the reports on YOG are journalists,editors,interns,and the organizers of YOG.Besides these true writers,the readers also construct a imaginative writer.The image of this imaginative writer will influence the evaluation of YOG.In additional,journalists also used the time of narrative,and the perspective of narrative to arrange the content of stories.3.For narrative strategies,showing caring for the people in the news,digging more stories of characters in news;keeping readers in suspense;showing conflicts of two sides are main strategies of narrating stories of YOG4.There are two main prototypes of this grand meeting-"the realization of one’s dream "and the hero archetype.These prototypes made the stories more close to the readers heartAnd all the strategies mentioned above has form the knowledge,criteria of value and public consensus of the Youth Olympic Games.
