| In the continuous development of information technology today, with amount of information on the Internet, people are often not able to identify which is valuable. For researchers, how can quickly and efficiently get the information resources they need, how to remove the redundant information resources is a very important issue. Subject Information Gateway appears to provide people the quickly entrance to get with high-quality academic resources, to find related academic resources according to certain selection criteria in this area of research to filter, organize and provide access.This paper studies about the construction of the information resources of Archives Subject Information Gateway, which is an important part of the construction. Construction on the basis of resources, in order to provide a wealth of resources and quality of services for the development of the gateway. This paper surveys the theoretical and practical understanding of the construction of subject information gateway on the basis of the portals, Information Portals and Subject Information portal discipline to do a comparative analysis, defining the Archives Subject Information Gateway concept and characteristics. Then, the base of research on users’ needs to understand the users’ demand type of resource organization and service methods. And suggests the proposed resource development program of Archives Subject Information Gateway. Finally, summarizes the entire contents, analyze deficiencies and recommendations.The first chapter introduces the research background and significance of the study, makes a literature review of the international Subject Information Gateway for domestic, and then describes the research ideas, methods and innovations.The second chapter defined the concept of Archives Information Subject Gateway. First, detailed compares and analysis the concept of Gateway and Information Gateway with the Subject Information Gateway. Then, makes a clearly definition of the concept of Archives Subject Information Gateway. At last, explains its features.The third chapter is the research foundation of this article. It is divided into two parts, the theoretical foundation and the practical foundation. Theoretical basis includes Information Architecture Theory and Information Resources Organization Theory.
