| Integrated Project Management System (IPMS) is a system focused on cost management by means of process management, considering the actual needs of the construction site management of China Railway No.10 Engineering Group, intended to comprehensively promote the flattening of project management and standardize information reporting process, to improve the group’s overall control over its subsidiaries, branches and projects, thus realizing full coverage throughout the whole process transversely to the edge and vertically to the bottom. Centered on project information resource utilization and guided by the concept of informatized management, the system achieves the purpose of corporate information accumulation and sharing and provides a powerful learning and training platform, on the basis of computer technology, network technology, knowledge management technology and data management technology, whereby every employee can become familiar and proficient with post standards related to project management. Consequently, accurate and standard operation can be achieved, enhancing project management quality and level, strengthening the intensive monitoring ability, facilitating the enterprise to make timely, accurate, comprehensive analysis, judgment and decision, so as to improve project execution and profits ultimately.This paper mainly describes the design and realization of IPMS. Based on the analysis and clarification of normal work flow of IPMS, it proposed explicit management mode and management process. The daily work for project management is refined into several modules including cost work breakdown, cost planning, bulk material preparation plan and internal inspection. Adopting the idea of modular design, the functional requirements were elaborated through case diagram, case description and activity diagram on the basis of unified modeling language.Meanwhile, the non-functional requirements such as system reliability, stability and usability were described.B/S structure was selected for the system development mode and a maximum balance was achieved between maintenance simplicity and program efficiency, realizing centralized deployment of the server. The system adopts NET.Framework-based ASP.NET, with C# as the programming language, and SQL Server 2005 database is accessed through ADO.NET. For the purpose of data security of the system, the authority management module was specially designed, to ensure legitimate users to access "legitimate" resources. With regard to the detailed design of the system, modeling was performed for the design and analysis of the system, and system function structure and class, method and interface were elaborated through class diagram and timing diagram. Selection was made for the type of database, and database concept model and logic model were designed through E-R diagram, data model and data table design. The database table field information and field type were respectively designed. The system function was described through functional module screenshots and code interpretation.A comprehensive test on the IPMS has been completed so far. The test environment, test cases, test methods and test results were described in this paper. Currently the system is operated stably in the relevant project department of China Railway No.10 Engineering Group.The system has been constantly revised and improved according to user feedbacks. The system has enhanced the efficiency of project management, strengthened communication between the group and the project department, alleviated the workload of the staff in the project department, improved the project profitability, and promoted informatization within the corporation. |
