With the rapid development of flat panel display technology,3D display technology has been widely used in the 3D monitor,3D TV and 3D movies and other products. But for the 3D display quality evaluation at home and abroad, there is no corresponding national measurement standards and method, mainly in visual perception and some in theory objective evaluation in practice. Therefore it is very necessary to study the 3D display quality evaluation method, to establish a scientific 3D display quality evaluation methods and criteria to evaluate the display quality of 3D products.This article deeply analyzes basic principles of 3D display,3D signal input format, and flat panel LCD monitor working principle, introduces major 3D display basic technology. Base on the study of the existing 3D subjective evaluation system, this article set up the improved 3D display quality evaluation method, and considers the audience’s comfort and security, and establishes subjective quality evaluation form and scoring mechanism. By using various signal generators output 3D signal source for measurement, and evaluates 3D monitor. Judge 3D display quality in six items, such as third dimension, dynamic effects, color performance, brightness performance, viewing angle and comfort.Base on the study of objective and subjective evaluation for the display quality, set up a set of 3D test platform, construct a set of integrated 3D test flowchart. This article put forward an objective electrical test method to check 3D basic functions and six basic objective optical measurement indicators to evaluate the performance of 3D display. In the Objective electrical measurements, according to the electrical working principle, makes a photoelectric sensor and test shielding box, places the photoelectric sensors behind the 3D glasses to instead of the human eye observation, the photoelectric sensor detect the photo signal, then transforms it to electrical signal, using oscilloscope and the current meter to measure 3D left and right eye image signal switching timing of 3D monitor, in order to check the basic function of 3D display, In the objective optical measurements, according to the optical characteristics of the 3D display, with a professional 3D optical measuring instruments to measure the brightness of the display, brightness uniformity, contrast, crosstalk, viewing angle, response time which six object parameters indicates, combined with improved subjective evaluation results to confirm these items parameters is reasonable judgment.By test shutter and polarized 3D monitor, collate and summarize the various subjective and objective measurement data, analysis of measurement results show that the improved subjective evaluation items, scoring mechanism, the objective measurement of 3D electrical switch timing as well as left and right eye images quantifiable objective optical measurement parameters can effectively reflect the merits of 3D display quality, these measurements are conducted in the company’s 3D evaluation criteria, also are applied to the research and development and manufacture of 3D monitor.
