Pulverized coal explosion accidents occurred frequently in recent years, which have brou-g ht great harm to the safety of people’s lives and properties, as a result of this, security operation in pulverized coal production attracted much more attention. Explosion would be easily occurr-ed in case of naked fire when pulverized coal concentration is too high in environmental air, so i t is important to take accurately measurement of pulverized coal concentration. Pulverized coal belongs to solid phase which is different from that of air, the measurement method of whose c-oncentration need to be more properly homogonously, new challenge has been put forward in pulverized coal concentration measurement system.Much attempts have been done for measuring pulverized coal concentration in different co untries, and different measuring method have been created based on different principles, such as induction electric potential method, microwave method, ultrasonic method, laser method, capa citance method and so on. But systematic detection equipment for pulverized coal concentration is still in the stage of development, different ways of detection system has been produced based on different method, for example, wireless sensor network detection system which is based on optical fiber sensing, Ethernet,3 g network. These methods have their advantages and disadvan-tages in its transmission rate, the data reliability, suitable conditions and detecting scale, in one word, they are not the most accurate way to satisfied production requirement.In this paper, capacitance method was adopted in detection of pulverized coal concentrati-on on the basis of previous studies, advantages of finite element method in electrostatic field simulation would be raised. ANSYS software was used for spiral capacitance sensor modeling, including three dimensional optimization design and simulation results, those result would help us optimize sensor which can overcome the problem of capacitance sensitive caused by convec-tion type distribution. Information was transformed through wireless sensor network in the det-ection system. A novel systematic detection equipment for pulverized coal concentration based on CC2530 ZigBee protocol of wireless sensor network have been realized, in this network, ac-oordinator acts as the center sensor node which combine numbers of terminal nodes together in the way of star network to realize the detection of pulverized coal concentration in selected area. Finally, curved surface fitting have been done to experimental data to reflects the concentration distribution and whose relation to time in selected area directly, the whole solution showed gre-at Actionability, Instantaneity, Accuracy in detection of pulverized coal concentration.
