Loess Plateau is one of the ecologically fragile regions in China. The early years people were lack of knowledge about forestry science, So a lot of afforestation measures gradually reveal defects. Black locust is one of the main forestation trees in Loess Plateau, playing an important ecological function in water and soil conservation in this region. Improving the health situation of plantation in this region play a vital ecological function.This study surveyed the black locust plantation in Fangshan Forest of Baishui County,Yehe Forest of Fufeng County and Huaiping Forest of Yongshou County. Then we build a simple and scientific forest health evaluation system with Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).At last, we wrote an artificial forest health management software based on this health assessment system.Below are research results.(1) Assessed the plots in survey area with the method of AHP. On the basis of constructing artificial forest health evaluation indicators system, assess the plots in survey area with the method of AHP. The percentage of black locust plantation in sub-healthy status is 71.43%, and that in unhealthy is 28.57%.(2) Determined the level threshold of artificial forest health evaluation indicators. On the basis of constructing artificial forest health evaluation indicators system and the results of domestic and foreign research, we determined the threshold level of every evaluation indicator.(3) Programmed artificial forest management technology system. On the basis of artificial forest health evaluation indicators threshold, referring to the require of the forest management plan prepared by the national and local governments, we wrote an artificial forest health management technology system.(4) Programmed artificial forest health assessment method and management expert system. By means of AHP and C# language, with the health threshold of artificial forest and artificial forest management technology system, we programmed artificial forest healthassessment method and management expert system software.
