With the advancement of Internet technology, real-time data streaming technology has become a hot topic in recent years. Nowadays, streaming media is widely used in the field of video surveillance, video conferencing, webcasting, distance education and so on. With streaming technology and cloud computing technology matures, the popularity of Android mobile devices and increasingly rich multimedia files, people’s demand for video playback on mobile devices become more sophisticated, vast amounts of video data storage has become a key issue. After researching the current streaming media system and combine Hadoop distributed system in-depth, this article designs a cloud-based Android video playback system.The article firstly introduces relevant technologies of designing the cloud video play system, including Android system, Hadoop distributed framework, streaming media andfuse middleware, focusing on Hadoop MapReduce and HDFS framework works and streaming media technology-related RTP/RTCP, RTSP protocols.Secondly, it introduces systems analysis, and comes up with the overall design of the system. According to the overall design, it describes the function module design both client and server, and proposes the use of middleware combined with streaming media server and Hadoop clusters, distributed file system to achieve transparency in detail.Thirdly, according to the system design, it implements the various components of the system progressively, describes in detail the steps to build the entire system, including the WEB server, Hadoop environment and deployment of streaming media server. It focus on introducing the client UI module, communication module video playback file on the server module and WEB to upload modules, and make the whole system work in the end.Finally, it tests the entire system, including video playback test streaming media client and video files uploaded to the Hadoop cluster testing and analysis of test results. Test results show that cloud video playback system has worked andmeet the customer needsof mass data storageThis paper discusses the theory and implementation of both the design and implementation of cloud video playback system. It proposes a new server architecture combining of traditional streaming media server and Hadoop clusters. The research trials showit has achieved the operation of the system.
