| Gene technology and Genetically Modified technology is one of the greatest achievements in the history of science,As a new thing, it is inevitably aroused considerable controversy. One of the things that we have seen is that knowledge about GM is very low in the general population. But why the understanding of GM was limited to the words or at a superficial level. For the purposes of scientific communication, the function of mass media not only provides scientific information, but also affects the audience’s values and shapes the understanding and action.The news media is always organizes and produces news with a certain rules, which is the News Frame, restricting the news topic and the content of report, playing an important role in shaping the media image. This paper select the important newspaper reports about GM from 2010 to 2014, analysis the construction and reflection of GM from news frame, including four aspects report topic, news sources, news outlets and narrative strategy of the text.Media reports have highlighted the theme of a diversified distribution, experts and scholars and government organizations "preference" in the application of a large number of news sources, genre, neutral position reports to occupy the majority of proportion. Through these four aspects of analysis, and reach a conclusions: Presenting multiple stereo of media image through constructing multifaceted framework in report topic; Highlights the importance of experts, government institutions and commercial groups in the framework of news sources, building GM technology cline to elite culture of media image; Shaping GM serious of media image in diverse news outlets; Focused on balance the tendency in report, shape the media image of GM unknown risks as being neutral. And the causes of this multifaceted media images are analyzed from the community level, media and cultural aspects. |
