The background of the thesis is underwater detection and laser detection, and it is a scientific research projectfrom a research institute. The wave tracking control system design and experiment are completed based onpredictive PI control algorithm in the paper.The principle of the system is described as follow: a laser beam is launched to flat water through lens firstly,then it is reflected to reflector of galvanometer scanner, and finally the beam gets to lens again trough reflector.Thus, the laser beam can arrive in the set point of position sensor. When the water fluctuates, using algorithm tocontrol the reflector’s angle of galvanometer scanner. Laser beam that is disturbed by water wave still can arrive inthe set point of sensor, and realize good tracking on water wave. Main content of this paper is as follows:1. The predictive PI control algorithm is introduced in this paper. Through a deep exposition of the PIDalgorithm and the development of predictive control, predictive PI algorithm has been proposed. In the thesis, thepredictive PI algorithm is used as the system control method, and the importance of this algorithm will be elaboratedin detail.2. By understanding parameters and functions of each hardware, the performance and flexibility of the entirehardware system is illustrated in the paper. The controller plays a crucial role on the entire hardware, so theresearch and application of the controller is the mainly work in this thesis. Finally, selecting suitable performanceand parameters of the controller for this system. Connecting all the hardware to constitute the wave tracking controlhardware system.3. The entire system is completed by combining with software and hardware. Control algorithm and controllerplay a crucial role. Before the actual operation, in order to obtain the specific parameters of the controller, Matlab’sSimulink is used to establish control system structure diagram, and controller model. Controller hardwarecommunicates with PC by a network cable. PAC Project software is used to write algorithms and display interface.The display interface shows the controller adjustable parameters and the result on run-time.4. In order to achieve better tracking performance, first of all, the PAC software and Matlab need to build OPCcommunication. Simulink simulation and controller system are on the same computer. Simulink simulation resultsprove the good performance of the system. Then connecting the controller system to the hardware and operating the system.thepracticalresultsfurthertestifythereliabilityandoperabilityofsystem.
