Research On Software Technology Of DM6467-based Smart Camera

A smart camera is an intelligent vision system. Compared to ordinary camera, the smartcamera can understand the captured images and extracts application specific informationfrom the images. By using the extracted information, the smart camera generates events ormakes decisions which are used in an intelligent and automated system. So far, smartcameras are widely used in industrial automation control, intelligent traffic system, securitysystem, scientific exploration and so on.In this thesis, the hardware of TMS320DM6467T is demonstrated and a Linux devicedriver for DM6467VPIF is designed and implemented. The VPIF driver can capture anddisplay images in real time. In addition, a machine vision application software platformwhich is called BASE project is built. The BASE project integrates video input, algorithmprocession, video output and communication interface. It can meet the requirement ofmachine vision application software in smart camera. The BASE project separatesmechanism and strategy, and programs for interface so that it has a clear structure and can beexpanded easily.In the smart camera application of determination of laser ablation area, this thesisprovides a set of resolution which includes OTSU adaptive threshold acquisition, imagebinarization, connected component labeling. Considering the specification of the application,a effective math resolution which uses the rectangle and its circle of equal area is raised tocalculate the parameters of laser ablation area. According to the experimental results, theprovided resolution can correctively and effectively determinate the laser ablation areawithout artificial setting in the condition of different focal distance and illumination. Itreaches good stability and high robustness, and can be used in production field.
