Design And Implementation Of Peer Review System Security Online Submission Based On XML Technology

With the high-speed development and widely use of Internet and web technology,all kinds of creative people using the Internet online submission-review system is verycommon. All kinds of online submission-review system give the convenience topeople meanwhile, they also bring many risks. For example, how does the authorbelieve that his own works won not be stolen and will be reviewed fairly? So thesecurity of online submission and review system are particularly important. Newdesign and mechanism is needed to solveall these problems. Therefore, onlinesubmission and review system must ensure the works can not been tampered, Stolenand Fraudulent with others, etc.XML(Extensible Markup Language) is published by an W3C(World Wide WebConsortium), it is a Extensible Markup Language. XML use a simple yet flexiblestandard format, it bings a effective means to the web-based applications, for datadescription and data interchange. Its main function is data interchange, betweendifferent platforms,or different Applications.In this Thesis,we introduce XML into our submission-review system as thecommunication tool between our system, authors, and reviewers. To the newtechnologies, we implement the digital signature and encryption/decryption on theXML document to solve all the problems we mentioned. Furthermore, our purposedsystem also achieves the goals of cryptography, which are nonrepudiation, privacy,authenticity and integrity.(1) nonrepudiation: the authors and reviewers can not be denied that the behavioroccurred;(2)privacy: the system can protect the identity of the authors and reviewers;(3)authenticity: the system can use the digital signature to ensure the legality ofthe articles;(4)integrity: the system can ensure the information of submission and review,notbeing deleted, tampered, tempted and Stolen, etc.In addition, normally the browser can not display or input special characters. Forthis reason, we will develop plug-ins program in office word. In this way, we caninterchange data between word and xml file. Currently, the system has been deployed in microsoft windows2008system,using Microsoft Visual Studio.NET for development. Microsoft SQL Server2008DBMS is used as the main database in this project. After a series of tests, the systemrun stably, and the design and development achieves the desired effect.
