Analysis On The Influence On The Tradition Of Guests Confucian Spirit To The News Comments And Writing In China

The topic of the thesis was chosen from the subject of “A Comparative Study ofChinese and American news comments” by the National Social Science Fund of theMinistry of Education. Based on the findings of the previous studies, it proves thethought that the Guests Confucian Spirit has a great effect on the news comments andwriting style in China. In the process of selecting writing materials, making conception,writing, etc, the news commentators will show their similar characteristics with theancient intellectual and officials with or with consciousness. By analyzing andcomparing the similarities, the conclusion comes out: Though the ancient intellectualand officials have disappeared, their tradition and spirit still influence the thinking waysof the intellectual in nowadays. It deeply rooted in the blood of them, as if it has becomea fragment of some kind of DNA of the Chinese culture. When the Guests ConfucianSpirit have some impact on the news comments and writing style, it will definitelychange the development of the news comments in China to form a new news commentpattern with Chinese characteristics.This thesis is divided into six chapters to make discussion:The first chapter is about the introduction, proposing the purpose and significanceof the research, summarizing the findings of previous studies, by analyzing the findingsto find out the references of how to write the thesis and to find out the researchmethods.The second chapter analyzes the original sources of the ancient essay and themodern news comments, Simulating the evolution history of their change, from theancient essay to the modern news comments and even the later comments. After thereform and opening up, the number of choosing the pattern and theme of China’s newscomments have increased. Then the thesis focuses on the reasons of the evolution changes. From the style perspective, the ancient essay and the news comments are allbelongs to argumentative writing. And from the author’s perspective, these ancientliteratus and the intellectual in nowadays do have some factors which indicates that theymay likely to be alike in the future. But with the change of the modern civil society andthe conceptions, the ancient essay and news comments are not exactly the same.The third chapter explores the tradition of Guests Confucian Spirit on new comment. First of all, Guests Confucian Spirit give birth to the phenomena of “Literatus’ Political Comments”. Secondly, the philosophy of "Words to Convey the Truth" has a great influence on the conception oriental issue of the news comments in nowadays.The fourth chapter discusses the impact on the news comments at present under theinfluence of Guests Confucian Spirit. The impact mainly shows in the following threeways: grass-roots culture online, marketization, globalization.The fifth chapter evaluated the influence of Guests Confucian Spirit on the newscomments from the positive and negative ways. The thoughts as “The Emotion ofFamily and Country” and “Abide by the Tao” in the Guests Confucian Spirit hadpositive effect on the nowadays news comments while the literati class’s tradition ofrelying their lives on the power had negative impact on the development of the newscomments.The sixth chapter summarizes the whole part, believing that the Guests ConfucianSpirit had a significant influence on the news comments and writing. The moderncommentators should fully emphasize on the good tradition, discarding the dross andselecting the essential to inheriting it.
