Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of computer applications, software become a necessarytool for work and life. With the size of the software increasing, the cost is getting high,therefore, defects in the software development process relative opportunities increased,while the people’s perception of software defects gradually increase. Therefore, thesoftware defect management system is an important part of software quality assurance insoftware lifecycle. A Web-based software defect management system is designed for asmall software development teamThe life cycle of software defects and management processes are comprehensivelyanalyzed. The characteristics of software defects were analyses. It presents the defectmanagement process specifications for a software defect lifecycle. Based on thisspecification, It analyzes the demand for software defect management system and designsthe function and architecture of the system. It was developed by using Web technologyand B/S structure and using MVC three-tier architecture design. It uses the popular opensource J2EE framework SSH to implement software defect management system. Systemhas the characteristics of a platform-independent, and has good maintainability andscalability.System has been applied to software development process, it achieved good resultsand improve the quality of software, reducing software development and maintenancecosts.
