Defect Classifacation And Measurement Methods Applied In Defect Management Of Software

With the rapid development of information technology, the software has broken away from small workshop-based production and transfers to industrial production. The software project is more and more huger. Project management begins to cause people's attention and becomes the key of the success of project. Without a scientific and standard management, the project can't be controlled and finally results in failure. At present, each software company introduces the project management in the developing plans actively, in order to manage the exploiture effectively. Nowadays most of the software enterprises are in troubles how to implement process improvement? How to assess the effects of the process? Defect management is the key point of process improvement. In the thesis, defect management that drives software process is the motivation of the research. The implementation of defect management and improvement of software process are the intention.The definition, classification, measurement and characteristic of software defect are introduced in the thesis. A system of software defect management based on the defect classification and measurement are designed and implemented.A solution is introduced based on the application model, it established based on IIS(Internet Information Server) and SQL Server, implemented data access and quantitative analysis bia ASP and Java graphic applets along with data management and system management functionalities, some detailed computer technicals and programming skills are described. After analysis the defect data, some pieces of useful advices and good practices about project management of software are provided.
