This thesis is mainly about a high-power pulse driver which can output pulse currentsignal with nanoseconds width. Instead of the rapid development like foreign countries, thedomestic development of high-power pulse driver is much slower. There is barely product ofmid-level or higher among the markets in our country. It’s not only because the theory ordesigning plan on this subject is not properly put forward, the lack of research on the electromagnetic compatibility of the equipment is the main reason that leads to the distortion ofwaveform. The equipment without well-designed electro magnetic compatibility is of lowvalue.Firstly, some defects of the original circuit are revised and a new piece of schematic isdesigned based on circuit theory and EMC principle. This process includes the EMC design ofeach unit, the optimization of high speed switch driver and the improvement of circuitstructure. The new design is tested by simulation, which is significant to the experiments.A new printed circuit board (PCB) is made after the optimization of circuit schematic.The components used in the new PCB match well, the high frequency PCB characters and theEMC simulation results are considered during this process. A sampling unit is designed and aDC-DC boost circuit is introduced for the convenience of installing equipment sample. Afterthe circuit is tested, A high-power pulse driver equipment sample is designed and installedbased on the electro shielding theory.The factors that have influences on the EMC of high-power pulse driver are wellconsidered in this thesis. The function of the equipment sample is all-around improved byoptimizing of circuit and PCB, choosing the proper components and designing of theequipment sample based on EMC. High frequency circuit analysis, bridge driver unit,electromagnetic field theory and EMC solutions are well used during the design ofhigh-power pulse driver. A plenty of adjustments are essential to make the equipment samplefunction well. According to the experimental results, the new designed high-power pulse driver well restrained the pulse spike and overshoot, it can output pulse signal with betterquality and limited parameters which can match the function of mid-level products among themarkets all over the world. What’s more, the measuring method of high-power ultrashortwidth pulse is summarized based on experience of experiments, which may makecontributions to the following research in this field.
