With the development of wireless network technology, Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is playing a more and more important role in industrial production and human life. Because of its advantages, such as the low power consumption, low cost, low complexity, the simple realization of a network, it has been applied in many fields. For multi-sensor concurrent testing of wireless sensor networks, such as sensor localization, data fusion and other applications, high-precision time synchronization is an essential key technology. Since the sensor nodes are small, low energy and limited processing capacity, high-precision time synchronization poses a great challenge, which is also the research hotpot in the field of wireless sensor network.In this paper, a high precision time synchronization system is design based on the Zigbee network. The main work are as follows:1. Proposed an improved synchronization algorithm IEEE1588high precision time synchronization methods. IEEE1588precision time synchronization protocol is widely used in a wired network synchronization algorithm. Combined with hardware timestamp method, the accuracy can be up to the nanosecond. For wireless sensor network applications required high precision time synchronization, IEEE1588time synchronization protocol is a good method. According to the characteristics of wireless sensor networks, using an improved IEEE1588protocol can reduce the number of synchronization messages exchanged.2. In synchronization period, using Kalman filtering for frequency compensation can effectively improve the synchronization accuracy, greatly reduce the synchronization cycle and reduce the occupation of cyber source.3. Finished the hardware platform of Zigbee network time synchronization system design, including schematic and PCB design. At last, improved time synchronization algorithm for IEEE1588is achieved on this hardware platform.Testing results show that, the proposed synchronization precision time synchronization algorithm can reach microsecond level with less cyber source. It basically meets the needs of the existing time synchronization accuracy requirements of application and can be applied to the future development of related products.
