The operation condition of rolling mill is affected by supporting roller bearing status. In order to detect the fault of supporting roller bearing timely, the temperature of supporting roller bearing is monitored. The acquired data is transmitted to the Remote Data Monitor Center through ZigBee and GPRS. This center is designed to store and analiyze temperature data. Some advanced functions, such as exception alarm, user management, node management and historical data query, are also realized in it, which can avoid the accident.A DS18B20temperature measuring solution including sequence diagram and flow chat is designed. ZigBee is introduced to build a short-distance wireless network. Based on its network topological structure and protocol stack, programs of temperature acquisition node, routing and sink node are designed. For those temperature acquisition nodes near a sink node, the acquired data is directly transmitted to its near sink node, and for those ones far from, a route node is used to forward data to its corresponding sink node. The remote wireless network is based on GPRS. With analysis of GPRS network structure and AT command, the gateway program is realized. The gateway node receives the data from sink nodes via serial port. Once a temperature is over the programmed threshold, an emergency message is sent to the corresponding administrator. All these data is sent to the Remote Data Monitor Center.As an important component, the Remote Data Monitor Center is consisted of desktop software and Web software. The former is a WPF-based multi-thread program, which is used to store user information, node information and the database table structure of node temperature. Its use case diagram, class diagram and sequence diagram are given based on the requirements analysis of software. The latter is an ASP.NET-based Web application program, which can help users query information with functions, included the login authentication, dynamic curve plotting, historical data query and statistical information of the node temperature, offered.At last, some tests are carried on to verify this system. Temperature acquisition nodes can detect the temperature of support roller bearing, and transmit the data to sink node and gateway node via routing nodes and then to the remote monitoring center via gateway nodes. The temperature alarm algorithm can avoid accidents. All the functions of the Data Monitor Center, such as logging in, user management, node management, dynamic temperature curve and the historical data query, are also pass those tests.
