Plastics industry in our country, whose economic indicators have been increasing steadily for ten years, has become one of the most important pillar enterprises of the national economy continuing to prosper. Industry investment analysis and future forecasting reports show that the application of plastic product is developing deeply and industry prospects are very wide. PH Plastic Co., LTD in this dissertation also realized the above state. But its management information system (MIS) is unable to meet its business needs and the system almost has become the bottleneck of PH’s further development.This dissertation, on the basis of PH’s business needs and the current system’s state, aim to design a MIS, which consists of sales, purchasing, manufacturing, stockpiling and can meet the special needs of PH’s business process. This MIS applies the theory knowledge and design idea of production and stock in MRP and the ABC stock control method, etc. Therefore, the main features of this dissertation are as follows:According to the sales order and product’s inventory, the system automatically estimates whether the products need to be produced. If the inventory is low and the products need to be produced, then the system calculates the amount that the products need to be produced. And according to the formula, the system calculates the amount that raw materials are needed. Then, according to the raw materials’inventory, the system estimates whether raw materials need to be purchase. If yes, the system automatically estimates the amount that raw materials need to be purchased and the purchase date and generate purchase orders.For any sales order, people with reasonable access can examine the progress of the order, including the sales order’s progress, the products’production progress and the raw materials’purchase progress. Thus, when the company needs to examine the progress or the customers ask for the products, the managers can always get the most accurate progress and feed them back to the customers. Managers can examine the system operation records at any time. On the one hand, this can act as the evidence when responsibility affiliation dispute appears and on the other hand, this can also prevent intentional or unintentional alteration, destruction, illegal copying of data.When the formula in the manufacturing technique document is chosen, the formula in the last batch is the best. The cost of raw materials of the product can be calculated instantly. These just meet the specific production processes of the company.PH’s requirement of manufacture and stock function needs to be met imminently. This function has been put into trial operation before the whole system was finished and now it is on normal operation. Other functions will be put into operation one after another. We can believe that the application of the MIS will improve PH’s economic benefits notability.
