Photonic crystal fiber grating is formed by the photonic crystal fiber and the traditional fibergrating technology for combination, compared with traditional fiber grating, it has use value is moreexcellent in many fields such as sensing, communication. For example, physical parameters, highaccuracy, wide wavelength tuning range. Optical communication and optical sensing furtherdevelopment of these techniques require the resonant wavelength of the fiber grating has bettertenability, more stability, as well as the outward physical quantity changes more sensitive. Based onthis, reflective spectrum characteristics of the twelve polygon structure clad fiber Prague grating isanalyzed by simulation provides a theoretical basis for the practical application in the future.This paper firstly introduces the research status and development direction of photonic crystalfiber and fiber Bragg grating, analysis of the research methods of photonic crystal fiber grating.Secondly, the twelve octagonal photonic crystal fiber Bragg gratings with different air hole layers,different modulation depth and other parameters were analyzed on spectrum characteristics. Theresults show that: with the increase in the wavelength of light, the effective refractive index mode oftransmission rate decreased, with the increase of the air hole layers, the resonant wavelengthincreases, enhanced resonance peak intensity; with the increase of duty ratio, the number oftransmission mode, resonance wavelength and resonance peak intensity decreases, basicallyunchanged. Finally, analyze the twelve octagonal photonic crystal fiber grating temperature andstrain sensing characteristics. The results show that: Twelve the resonant wavelength grating shapeof the photonic crystal fiber with the increase of temperature, the reflected wavelength shift to longwavelength resonant peak intensity, but there is no change in the basic, offset wavelength is alsovery small, the sensitivity of temperature is0.0114nm/℃. The strain change has a great influence onthe resonant wavelength, with the increase of the strain, the resonant wavelength shift towards longwavelength, the strain sensitivity of0.00425nm/u.
