Photonic crystals fibers have attracted scientists from all over the world deeply. Compared with traditional fiber optical properties, photonic crystal fiber appears a new starting point in the field of optical communications.In this paper, photonic band gap photonic crystal fiber and the total internal reflection photonic crystal fiber were studied. With the software of Rsoft, these two kinds of fibers were simulated and calculated. In order to obtain a larger complete photonic band gap, we use Maxwell's electromagnetic theory plane wave expansion method for photonic band gap, respectively. Photonic crystal fiber band structure was simulated by changing the effective refractive index and the cladding air filling ratio and larger complete photonic band gap was achieved. Using the same software at the same time total internal reflection photonic crystal fibers was simulated by calculating its effective refractive index, the normalized frequency and numerical aperture parameters. Finally, the corresponding conclusions were attractive.
