Campus Network Design And Performance Analysis

With the national economic development and the implementation of the strategy of invigoratingthe country through science, technology and education, the campus network has become one of theschool’s infrastructure platform, and is used as an important aspect to measure the educationinformatization and modernization of the school.on the campus. The fundamental purpose of settingup the campus network is to establish a safe and efficient computer network, which can offerresource sharing, information exchange and collaborative work to school teaching, research andmanagement.This thesis analyzes the development of campus network both at home and abroad. It introducesthe functions and construction principles of the campus network. The goals are to develop anadvanced network with security and reliability. Based on a campus network in a middle school, thisthesis mainly elaborates advanced technologies used in latest campus networks, such as three layerswitch and virtual local area network. By using VLAN(Virtual Network) and VPN (Virtual PrivateNetwork) technology, we can actualize external users’ remote access to campus network resources,and make it convenient for teachers outside the school to timely access to internal resources of thecampus network to deal with all kinds of affairs on the basis of their needs. With the switchingdevice of modular design, we can set aside sufficient space for the campus network expansion. Insecurity aspect, we use firewall, router settings, and the configuration of the access control list(ACLs) at the campus network’s exit, which can filter the data flow, facilitate the communicationdata constraints in network types and limit the network users or the use of equipment, so as torealize the internal and external network security isolation and protection. The thesis also brieflyexplains some factors in practical application effect on network performance.
