Along with the continuously developing of the computer technology and the network technology,and computer network to reforming of traditional teaching and push forward,the campus network gets into a period of rapid development. College has more and more high request to the campus network, and makes the mode, technique and equipments of the computer network continuously renewing. The campus network construction is a very complicated system engineering, in the construction process generally need steps such as demand analysis, system design, deployment and adjust etc., involve techniques such as switching, routing, network safety etc.The 3-layer switching and virtual local area network (VLAN) technique is extensively used among current ethernet techniques. The 3-layer switching technique means to make use of the 3-layer switches to complete port switching and routing on only one equipment. The VLAN technique means to divide a physical net segment into several logical subnets without considering physical position restriction.Using these two kinds of techniques can realize logical subnet dividing, broadcasting storm reducing, visit control, breakdown isolating, inner-VLAN switching, different VLANs routing etc. functions.The paper elaborates the method and process of campus network construction in the systemic and engineering view with instance of the campus network project of Huaian College of Information Technology. At first the paper analyses status quo and the demand of the campus network,then divides the system logical topology into three layers:core-layer, dirstribution-layer and access-layer. The paper also divides the system functions into VLAN, switching, routing and way out etc. function modules, and particularly analyzes the principle and operational mechanism of the 3-layer switching and VLAN technique. The design plan of ethernet campus network based on the 3-layer switching and virtual local area network (VLAN) technique in this article can satisfy the network need of small medium high school currently. It can alse solve some problems in the construction and usage of the campus network such as interview bottleneck, broadcast storm and inside net safety etc.The plan has the features of maturity, standard, safety, manageability and expandability.The running practice of the system in the last 2 years proves that the design of the campus network system meets the expected function and performance request.The techniques involved in the paper such as VLAN,3-layer switching and firewall module have wide application foreground in the campus network systems.The hiberarchy and modularization design ideas raised by the paper have important senses to the complex local area network systems design. The auther believe that the article has certain reference value in the campus network construction and transformation of high school.
