With the continuously development of computer technology and network technology, and computer network on the reform of traditional teaching and to push, the campus network of college has entered a period of rapid development. Institutions of higher learning have higher and higher requirements on the campus network, which make the design patterns, techniques and equipments applied to the campus network renewing constantly. The campus network construction is a very complicated system engineering, in the construction process generally needs steps such as demand analysis, system design, deployment and adjust etc., involve techniques such as 3-layer switching, VLAN, network security etc. The paper topic is the design and implementation of network for Institute of Education, which has important significance in practice.This paper first makes a comprehensive investigation on the network present status of Institute of Education, then taking the construction of the new campus network as background, according to the characteristics of current network, in order to solve the new campus network construction and interconnection of the new and old campuses, starts with user demands analysis to discuss the whole process of network design and implementation. Firstly, this paper analyses the development of network technology, as well as the current situations and problems of campus network construction in colleges, and then takes a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the new campus network present status and demands. Secondly, focuses on the design idea for the campus network, this paper carries on a detailed design of the selection of network backbone technologies, the topology of entire campus network, 3-layer switching and VLAN technology, moreover, it makes a detailed discussion on network exit, network security solution, network management and the application of network software. Finally, implement and deploy with the program, equipment selection and configuration, system implementation and running process was discussed. In addition, the paper analyses the problems encountered in the implementation process and also puts forward its solutions.The new campus network of Institute of Education now has been completed and put into use, the running practice proves that it meets the requirements of daily teaching, office and research, achieves the expected goals.
