In recent years, as more and more wireless communication technology standardsbeing introduced into the telecommunications industry, the development of advanceacademic research and industry operation model of heterogeneous networks become faster.WLAN as a local hotspot network and3G/4G cellular wide area network integration hasbecome the inevitable trend of the development of future wireless communication.Therefore, selection of optimal network in heterogeneous network environments will alsobecome a research hotspot of the communications sector. This thesis researches inheterogeneous wireless network terminal access network selection strategies. Offer aWLAN/LTE in heterogeneous network environment optimization options to access thenetwork. The paper first provides an overview of research on the subject and status ofbackground, research content, and provides an overview of wireless communicationnetwork development and network integration trends, which leads to the thesis research.Then briefly describes the various standards of access network discovery and selectionmechanisms, while heterogeneous network selection and selection process for scenarioanalysis. Face of heterogeneous networks convergence and the trend of development of themulti-mode Terminal make extensive use, the article present a multihomed mobile IPscheme based on port. Scenario a Terminal while maintaining associated with more thanone network, and choose a different network for each data stream to transfer. For thequestion of how to select a transport network, the text goes on to offer a measurement RNL(Relative Network Load, network load). RNL values relative to each valid network basedon load, so as to move the node to select a RNL minimal network to transmit data. Thisarticle based on the mobile node network selection algorithm based on local RNL valueshas been improved. By modifying the binding update message format for message, toembed the RNL values to send to the local agent. Let local agents from the global point ofview, select an optimal network access. Final establishment of system simulation usingOPNET Modeler simulation software platform, proposed access network selection has been validated. Simulation results show that the pro[osed access network selectionalgorithm based on RNL will not only meet the QoS requirements of users all kinds ofbusiness, and all network traffic load balancing in heterogeneous networks, greatlyimproved the overall performance of heterogeneous network.
