With the rapid development of LTE technology in the country, all mobile carriers haveimplemented the testing of accessing the network roundly. The device suppliers acceleratethe schedule of the research and testing for the network management system. The operationand management center-radio (OMC-R) which is the core software to manage the wirelessaccess network is facing tremendous challenge in the stage of commercialization. Thetesting environment of the device supplier’s laboratory is relatively simple and crudecompared with the complex network structure and the near natural testing environment inthe outfield. It is of high significance to accomplish the functional testing of OMC-R andsimulate the testing circumstances that may happen in the real environment as far aspossible before the testing of accessing the network in the outfield.It is not the inside logic but the realization of the functions for the software tested thatshould be focused on during the functional testing of the software. Testers couldn’t see theinside structure and dealing process and what they test is the information interaction of thecommunication interface. This paper is aimed to solve not only the simulative testingcircumstances that is difficult in the laboratory but also the testing of the test case that ishard to trigger in real network element environment and pressure testing for the large-scalenetwork elements. The main function of OMC-R is to manage the network deviceeNodeB(evolved NodeB) in the wireless access section among the LTE network. It putsforward the testing methods for the simulation technology of computer network elementsthrough the analysis of network management framework and communication interface. Itaccomplishes the overall testing for OMC-R better as an auxiliary testing methodcontraposing the real network element testing environment in the laboratory. And itdevelops a simulation system for eNodeB according to this thought, the system regards themodel of database tables as the support of the communication protocol and synchronouslysupports the two kinds of schemas: TDD and FDD and other sub-editions. The kind userinterface easy to operate and practical functions developed to help with the test are provided in the system.Finally, the simulation system for eNodeB combined with OMC-R is tested detailedly.And the result comes out to prove that the system fulfills the testing requirements ofOMC-R completely and is qualified to accomplish most of the testing work of OMC-R.The working efficiency of the testers and the veracity of the functional testing for OMC-Rwill be highly raised by setting up a testing platform where the real network element andsimulation system exist together in the laboratory.
