With the globalization of the world economy, the integration of the global market, China has joined to the WTO, domestic telecom operation companies made innovations in the service business to meet the fierce competition. These telecom operation companies adopt a customer-centered strategy in their business models, moving from "technology-driven" business models to "market-driven" and "customer-driven" ones.To meet the demand of its business development, China Unicom has sought new business growth by changing the e-mail system and the way we send e-mail so that e-mail can be sent via WAP devices and PDA, in addition to the traditional computer terminals.AsiaInfo has researched , analyzed and tested the recent large-capacity E-mail systems that are prevalent and the state of art, and thoroughly reviewed requirements of its clients. Based on this, AsiaInfo has developed its own large-capacity telecom-quality E-mail systems -AsiaInfo MailCenter (AIMC) .This paper gave a briefing on the functional and non-functional requirements of the e-mail system. This system is constructed based on a B/S framework, with users and managers operating and managing the system using a front-end JSP interface, and with maintenance personnel safeguarding the system using the Oracle8i database in the background of Solaris operating system, involving a variety of technologies. In order to have an advantageous position in a customer-centered market and increasingly fierce market competition, China Unicom and AsiaInfo cooperate to complete the on line of AIMC smoothly and efficiently. Author took part in the installation and testing of AIMC, after that did some administration and maintenance. This paper will describe the functional and non-functional testing of AIMC and how to create the use cases of testing during the test.
