In the background of global warming, developing low-carbon economy to realize global green development has become a worldwide focus.In the period of rapid economic growth, carbon emissions of China accounted for most in the world. Obviously, China is facing the prominent contradiction between rapid economic development and energy conservation. As the biggest power of communications around the world, the yearly power consumption of China has been up to about20billion degrees. Furthermore, with communication network, and user scale’s continues expansion, Telecommunication industry power consumption will also growing year by year. The energy consumption of communications industry is composed by power consumption, fuel consumption and material consumption, and power consumption is the major component, which accounted about80%for the total industrial energy consumption. With the rapid growth of mobile communication network, most of power consumption of communications industry comes from mobile communication network. Being deeply analyzed, about77.7%of the communication network total energy consumption is consumed by wireless network, in which power consumption of communication base station accounted for the most.Summarizing the current research about the base station energy consumption and energy efficiency research by the current domestic and foreign scholars, we can find that, energy consumption of base station is mainly composed by energy consumption of communication devices and air conditioning. By using heat balance method to analyze base station, both inside and outside heat sources of base station are influenced by each other, it is a very complicated work to analyze the real status of base station energy consumption and predict its energy consumption trend in the future. At present, it is still a key and difficult point for operators to analyze and predict base station energy consumption as well as analyze the energy-saving effect of various energy-saving measures.Based on that, in order to assist operators to implement the base station energy conservation and emissions reduction, this paper modeling base station energy consumption dynamically by use of Simulink software based on heat balance model of base station, meanwhile, modeling some major energy-saving technologies used in base station at present, finally construct a complete dynamic simulation model of base station energy consumption. Furthermore, we verify the feasibility and availability of the model by using instance data. By applying the dynamic simulation model, operators can make the simulated analysis on the real status of base station energy consumption as well as predicting the energy-saving effect of various major energy-saving technologies. Meanwhile, operators can also make use of this model to predict the potential energy consumption of new base station built in the future, so that to complete the green construction and operation of base station. The research achievement of this paper will provide a powerful analysis tool and reference to operators’base station energy conservation and emission reduction work.
