Our country is a big agricultural country, and breeding industry accounts for a largeproportion. The growth of animals is affected by not only genes and feeding nutrition, butalso their living environment whose impact is more direct; therefore, that the breedingenvironment is appropriate or not that plays a key role in keeping the animal healthy.Improper temperature and humidity control will lead to various diseases of animal, andalso cause animal performance to suffer significantly. Insufficient illumination affectanimals’ sleep, but also affect the normal metabolic activity of animal. The inhalation ofammonia can cause mucosal congestion, laryngeal edema and conjunctivitis, moreseriously, can lead to deterioration of pulmonary edema, pulmonary hemorrhage, and so on.It has a serious effect on the health of livestock and poultry.Based on analysis of the research status in animal house environmental monitoringfield at home and abroad, this paper develops an integrated environmental measurementand control system using computer technology, virtual instrument technology and networkcommunication technology. For monitoring and controlling the temperature, humidity,light intensity, the concentration of carbon dioxide and ammonia concentration, manymeasurement boxes and control boxes are placed in the animal house and combined withthe router and Ethernet network. In this paper, MSP430MCU is selected as the maincontrol chip, and the hardware circuit design of data acquisition, LCD display, networktransmission and so on, has completed. In the IAR development environment, the driverdesign of hardware is realized using C language. With PLC as main controller, this paperalso selects the fuzzy control module hardware and designs the fuzzy control algorithm forfan, wet curtain and other equipments controlling. Based on LabWindows/CVI8.5development platform, measurement and control system management software is designedto realize those functions such as parameters setting, real-time online condition monitoring,data management, outputs of control, and so on.Experimental results show that the system is operating normally and has highreliability for a real-time monitoring and control of animal house. It can improve social andeconomic benefits of livestock farming industry, and can provide a reference for the study of other environmental sensitive parameters model as well.
