Along with the progress of science and technology of human beings and the improvement of living standards, more and more people start to put forward the higher requests for the indoor environment. The traditional and non-intelligent monitoring device is gradually replaced by the automation and network-monitoring device. Moreover, the application of wireless sensor network is to this kind of demand.According to the requirements of indoor environment monitoring and the control technology index, this paper designed an indoor environment monitoring system for the distributed acquisition, execution and centralized management. In the process of system design, a general design scheme is given, and combined with the OSI open standard; the non-standard communication protocols of wireless sensor network are also designed.Under the guidance of the overall scheme, the paper gave a realized method of system components, including data center nodes, environment monitoring unit nodes and control execution unit nodes. In the hardware design, the common between different kinds of nodes is fully considered, and the universal module is used to realize the unified structure of main control CPU board, power management interface card and wireless network access interface card. Among them, the main control CPU board is based on the single chip microcomputer MSP 430, meanwhile the power management interface card can be seamlessly switched to the outer 5V power supply and lithium batteries power charge and supply, and wireless network access interface card is based on the radio frequency chip NRF 2401.In this paper,the embedded software is used to realize the node communication protocols and node self-operation control, and a console panel is developed for the data center. According to the layout of the network, several software design algorithms are given as well.The design of the network components is used to build an experiment platform of indoor environment monitoring system, in the meanwhile the testing and verification results are given, including all kinds of gas monitoring data, the corresponding automatic control functions, and the bottom BER(Bit Error Rate) analysis. The result shows that this system can basically realize the indoor environmental automatic monitoring, and the sensitive gases include CO, CO2, O2, NH3, and Formaldehyde. The sensitive environments include temperature, humidity and light intensity, and controlled objects include exhaust and light. This paper, for the environment monitoring, provides an optional scheme, which is of some theoretical value and engineering significance.
