With the rapid development of telecommunication technology, the scope of application of telecommunication system is expanding and the communication systems are becoming larger and larger.The application environment is becoming more and more complex. In space telecommunication environment, telecommunication between aerospace equipments, aerospace equipments and ground equipments usually adopts CCSDS communication protocol, while the telecommunication between the ground equipments usually adopts the Ethernet and TCP/IP. Besides, the limited space communication resource needs to be made use of more effectively.In the heterogeneous link like this, if the heterogeneous link switch system can achieve the flexible scheduling of the resource and demand-based delivery, it will make better use of the underlying network resource to provide service for the upper transaction and application. And due to the complex protocols in the heterogeneous link switch system, the traditional architecture of heterogeneous link switch system is difficult to meet the need of the space communication. How to change the current architecture of heterogeneous link switch system to meet the demand of space communication has become a pressing problem. SDN has software programming ability and improves the network automation management and control ability. It can solve the problems such as the limited resource scale and poor data scheduling flexibility in the heterogeneous link switch.This thesis improves the traditional heterogeneous link switch system architecture with SDN and makes a research on the problems such as the design of the system architecture and the optimization of underlying switch structure. Firstly, it analyzes the necessity to improve the heterogeneous link switch with SDN and pointes out the problems to be considered when SDN is applied to heterogeneous link switch system such as the design of the system architechture and the improvement of the performance of the underlying switch structure. Secondly, it analyzes the applicaition scenarios of the space communication and OpenFlow switch architechture and designs the heterogeneous link switch system architecture based on SDN. Thirdly, it studies the curent underlying heterogeneous link switch technology including encapsulation, assembling and switch, analyzes the defects and improves the switch system. Finally, it implements the new system based on FPGA and analyzes its performence.
