Traditional network layer mobility management architectures are mostly centralized management approach which has several limitations and problems, such as poor scalability, a single point of failure, triangle routing and it is difficult to deal with the impact of data crush。This paper focused on solving problems caused by existed centralized mobility management approach, had been keeping up with the latest achievements in international standardization organizations and research institutions, combined with existed PMIPv6implementation, proposed and implemented a new distributed mobility management scheme based on PMIPv6. This scheme reduces the data traffic of anchor node, enhances the scalability and reduces the possibility of a single point of failure.Through the research of Proxy Mobile IPv6implementation techniques, and based on the open source OAI PMIPv6software, a distributed mobility management system is implemented in this paper. After testing, the testing result demonstrates that this software runs well and satisfies the functions defined by the system.Additionally, this paper describes the design and implementation of a demonstration system over the mobility management system for the IPv6Application Demonstration.
