The modern large mechanical products which integrated mechanical, electron, computer, and other subjects are complicated in structure and highly concentrated intechnology, so it demands on the highly technical operation of the assembly technicians. Therefore, this paper is aimed to enhance the assemble level of assembly technician, debasethe difficulty of assembly. AR can integrate the products which exist in really world, andadd virtual information to the integration scene, which greatly extends the means to acquireinformation from really world. This thesis introduces AR to assembly and develops an ARassembly guidance system, which aims to improve the assembly efficiency and avoidoperational errors. And do some research on3D-registration and interactive technique ofAR. The main contents and innovations are as follows:(1) An algorithm for3D registration in augmented reality based on a single naturalcircle is proposed, and it calculates the pose matrix of the object plane according to theintersecting points of absolute conic and circles of mechanical part, which exist extensivelyin industry environment. Aimed at recognition and3D registration of mechanical parts inassembling environment, an approach for multiple objects registration from color histogramof H component of HSV color model is proposed. By the comparison experiment withARToolkit, the proposed algorithm is correct and effective.(2) Aimed at driving and updating the virtual information of assembly, this paperdefined four gesture interaction instructions at first, and then modeled the mathematicalmodel of assembly gesture based on affine invariant moments and used SVM to distinguishfour defined gesture. The experiment of classification indicates that the gesture recognitionalgorithm based on affine invariant moments and SVM is accuracy.(3) Finally, used gear assembly of output shaft in gearbox under AR environment as aexperiment, this paper uses Open CV and Open Inventor to achieve the function of instanceunder VC++6.0platform, and designs the operation process of the instance, then achievesthe integration of main function. The assembly demonstration experiment indicates that the3D registration and interaction technique is correct and effective, and the demo system isreasonable, mellifluence and friendly in operation and interaction.
