With the3G technology developed rapidly in our country, the3G wireless gateway’s applicable scope is becoming more and more widely, such as in the business office, bank ATM machine and video monitor application occasions. Instead of the construction of communication line originally,3G network provides data transmission services wirelessly, which brought great convenience.Due to the rapid increase of China’s mobile Internet users,3G wireless gateway with only one link was already unable to satisfy the user demand for bandwidth, and if there is a problem of single point failure, the user will not be able to access the Internet, so the multi-link3G wireless gateway into the mainstream.In this paper, according to the characteristics of multi-link3G wireless gateway, we deeply studied on the multi-link load balancing technology, analyzed and compared some of the traditional load balancing algorithms. Especially, we focused on the research of load- balancing algorithm DBCTIA, this algorithm is deeply analyzed, and we pointed out deficiency of the DBCTIA algorithm for multi-link3G wireless gateway. Then, according to the specific problem, we proposed a load balancing algorithm of improved DBCTIA.At the same time, in this paper, we also studied the policy routing technology in Linux. In the Linux environment, by using the technology of multi routing table and rule configuration strategy of routing, we proposed a method for multi-link3G wireless gateway load balancing scheme, this scheme can achieve good load balancing function. The network performance of3G wireless gateway improved effectively.Finally, in this paper, we built the multi-link3G wireless gateway system in the Linux environment, the system has the function of load balancing, routing optimization and3G multi-link connection. It also provides web configuration interface for users, which is very convenient. By system testing, the system can access the Internet via multi3G link, and user can assign the flow to different3G link according to the proportion, which realized the function of load balancing.
