Data query of two-tiered sensor networks is one of the important ways for user toobtain and analyze the sensory data. However, two-tiered sensor networks havelimited resources, data-centric, application-related and other features. And they aremostly deployed in unattended and complex environment. Therefore, they are facedwith data eavesdropping, tampering and other threats in application. How to ensurethe data privacy in the process of data query has become a challenge. This thesisfocuses on data query in two-tiered sensor networks, and two kinds ofprivacy-preserving query protocols were presented. The main contributions of thethesis are described in the following aspects:(1) Propose a privacy-preserving multidimensional range query protocol(PPMRQ) in two-tiered sensor networks. The PPMRQ can ensure the privacy ofsensory data by using Z-O encoding, hash-based message authentication codemechanism and radius-distance judgment method. To preserve the query resultintegrity, sensor node generates verification code when its sensory data is not satisfiedwith the multidimensional range query. Theoretical analysis and simulation resultsshow its privacy security, and it has better performance than the previous work incommunication overhead.(2) Design a privacy-preserving skyline query protocol (PPSQ) in two-tieredsensor networks. In this protocol, storage node can achieve tuple relations ofdomination judgment without the sensory data plaintext by using Z-O encoding andhash-based message authentication code mechanism. And consequently the PPSQ canaccomplish the skyline query while protecting the privacy of sensory data. Theoreticalanalysis and experimental results show that it has better performance in privacypreservation, and it costs less energy consumption and communication overhead thanother similar method.
