With the implementation of ladder-type price for electricity and improvement of people’s awareness on energy conservation and environmental protection, there is broad market demand in the home energy management, especially the intelligent power system which faces to home. The basic function of intelligent home power system mixes technologies of power real-time measurement, automatic control, network communication and so on, and implement the goals of visible、controllable and automatic planning of home power consumption. Intelligent home power system is usually consisted of SPO (Smart Power Outlet) and IPG (Intelligent Power Gateway, also work as controller). Different from common power outlet, SPO not only provides power but also support the real-time power consumption measurement and automatic switch control function for electrical equipment. IPG communicates implement the real-time data acquisition、switch command and state interaction functions through ZigBee network communication technology and SPO. In order to support to manage intelligent power system, IPG must have the mechanism for internet or telecom accession.This thesis mainly aimed at three communication requirements of intelligent home power system, including message and order interaction based on ZigBee network between SPO and IPG, message and order interaction between IPG internal parts such as ZC (ZigBee Coordinator) and IP applications, IPG’s communication mechanism based on SIP(Session Initiation Protocol). Its main research work includes:first, it puts forward mechanism for power data processing, key massage acknowledgement, ZigBee node planning, and the clock synchronization. It designs and realizes an application protocol which supports real-time power data acquisition and power switch commands based on ZigBee. Second, it designs data interactive mechanism between ZC and BPD (Business Processing Department) based on serial port, realizing communication with SPO and ZC. Third, it defines IPG’s SIP communication mechanism, and implements a simplified embedded SIP protocol stack which only supports register, publish/subscribe-notify and a few other SIP message. IPG can communicate with IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) standard terminal, can control and manage intelligent home power system. The experiment and test results show that the definition of the communication mechanism and protocol can effectively support intelligent power system communication need, then support related business application.As a functional extension of the AMI (advanced measurement infrastructure), communication technologies related to intelligent power evolve constantly, and related power communication protocol cannot meet the application requirements of sensor networks based on a new generation of measurement and control communication, so related technical standards are urgent to establish, this thesis does some work usefully to explore the related technology.
