With the development of Internet of Things, people propose increasing demand onwireless networks. More real-time business needs are proposed, such as video conference,VoIP, Online games. New multicast routing protocols are needed as the wireless networkshave shortcomings like low reliability, limited energy and low throughput.Wireless Mesh Networks is a new wireless multi-hop mesh-topology network. It collectsthe advantages of ad-hoc networks and wireless networks to overcoming the traditionalshortcomings like limited transmission distance, low efficiency. The study of WMN is just in its infancy. To meet the demand for multicast service, a newmulticast protocol is proposed based on MAODV protocol of ad-hoc networks. The mainwork is as follows:(1) The shortcomings of multicast routing protocols are pointed out based on the analysisof the characteristics of IoT and WMN.(2) Based on the MAODV multicast routing protocol of Ad hoc network, a multicastrouting protocol DT-MAODV(Dynamic Topology-MAODV) is proposed to fit the multicastneed of Wireless Mesh Network. The protocol proposes a dynamic strategy to change themulticast tree structure based on the characteristic of node mobility of wireless network.(3) According to the shortcoming of passive repair of the multicast tree, a pre-repairmechanism called PR-MAODV is proposed. In the transmission process of each data flow, thedestination node monitoring parameters like delay, bandwidth, package loss rate. Once aparameter exceeds a certain threshold, it will send signals to source node to find a better path.(4) The simulation results show that DT-MAODV and PR-MAODV achieves a goodperformance in network latency, package loss rate, throughput and so on.
