Along with the rapid development of the Internet and the high pace of theinformationization of the enterprise, a deep change on the mode of the application andmanagement of the IT resource have happened, gradually moving from an independentand decentralized resource to service-oriented innovation resource based on database. However, the extensive management methods and the low-level technical meanscan not guide the energy saving and emission reduction effectively, resulting inincompletion of energy consumption data, high cost of energy management, theshortage in energy consumption evaluation mechanism, the poor energy efficiencyprogram implementation and many other difficult problems. So, the purpose of thetopic is to establish an energy management system of data center based on embeddedsystem to achieve the refined measurement, real-time monitor, intelligent processingand dynamic management of the energy management of each subsystem, help theoperator to know the situation of energy consumption of the data center and provideusers reference to compare the level of energy efficiency between data centers.The overall design of energy consumption management of the data center systemcan be divided into four specific parts:energy consumption data collection of datacenter, data center energy consumption statistics and analysis, data center energyefficiency assessment and optimization and data center planning and implementation.The content of this paper is about the research and design for the data collectionplatform in the system of energy consumption management of data center. The datacollection platform selected widely used ARM plus Linux design pattern. S3C2440A microprocessor was selected as the controller of this platform to establish the hardwaresystem of data collection platform, the inner core of S3C2440microprocessor isARM920T. The controller was used to realize the communication between embeddedplatform and smart meters in date center, collect the energy consumption informationof subsystems in data center continually and timely and control and manage themodules of the embedded platform.The design of software system of data collection platform covers theestablishment of the development environment of embedded system and codeimplementation of drivers, the main tasks covered: the cross-compilation environmentestablishment of embedded system, the configuration and compilation of boot loader,the production of root file system and the update of embedded system. The part ofdrivers covered the design of character device driver, block device driver, LCD driver,USB driver and so on. Finally, introduced the integration of the software system of thewhole platform and the test of drivers.
