Energy issues becoming more and more serious, which increased the pace ofelectric vehicles replacing traditional fuel vehicles. Meanwhile, with the fastdevelopment of electric automobile industry, performance requirements of the motorand its controller are also increasing. The bench test is an integral part of motor andmotor controllers’R&D and production. The demand of the System is that test benchcould not only simulate the actual operation of the motor load conditions, but also needsto have a sufficient high dynamic and static response speed. The traditionaldynamometer means can’t meet the needs of modern motor test, which will be replacedby Electric Dynamometer with high response speed and control precision. Nowadays,compared to advanced technology abroad domestic Electric Dynamometer technologystill has a long way to go. Therefore, strengthening research in this area for thepromotion of domestic motor and its controller-related technology is of greatsignificance.This paper summarizes the gap in Electric Dynamometer between China withforeign countries, then makes further analysis of the system composition andcommunication connections within the system. Based on the achievements that haveacquired in the lab, the paper focuses on the hardware part of the electric dynamometerdesign exposition. As for the hardware part, it includes the selection of the feedbackenergy-conversion systems, analysis on similarities and differences of Dynamometerdedicated Motor and General Motors. At the same time, it provides the proposal ofchoosing dynamometer motor. Torque and speed sensor uses a more reliable modewhich can simultaneously measure torque and speed, reduce the mutual interferencebetween the signals and increase system reliability. Meanwhile, based on STM32MCU,it gives the design of signal acquisition and transmission unit, which realizesthe acquisition of speed and torque signal. Meanwhile, communication link withconsole is completed. Then the Electric Dynamometer system communication design based on CANopen and TCP/IP protocol is accomplished. Finally, according to thefeature of electronic dynamometer‘s strong electromagnetic interference in systemwork environment, the paper proposes electromagnetic interference suppressionstrategy, and discusses protective measures of the whole system, which lays a goodfoundation for the building of dynamometer bench and further test.
